Transdisciplinary Biomolecular and Biomedical Sciences (TBBS) Training Program

The Transdisciplinary Biomolecular and Biomedical Sciences (TBBS) Program, funded by the National Institute of Health (NIH), aims to provide fellows with an interdisciplinary and collaborative setting for doctoral training in biomedical research, implement effective evidence-based strategies for doctoral research training, and to prepare fellows for diverse roles in the biomedical workforce through the participation in various workshops and events.

Eligibility

To qualify, students must:

  • Have a U.S. citizenship or permanent residency
  • Have a research interest in biomolecular or biomedical sciences
  • Have a minimum 3.0 undergraduate GPA
  • Be a full-time student (9 credits in the fall and spring semesters, 6 credits in the summer semester)
  • Be admitted as a first-year student next fall 2023 by one of the following FIU Ph.D. programs:
  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Biochemistry
  • Physics
  • Public Health
  • Biomedical Sciences
  • Biomedical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
