Online Application Help

Application Fee:
You will be asked to pay the non-refundable application fee of $30.00 online using a major credit card (Visa, Master Card, Discover or American Express) or you may pay the application fee by using a Personal Check or Money Order in U.S. Dollars. Please be mindful that no application will be considered until the application fee is paid. Please be advised that your application fee must be paid within 30 days after the submission of your application for admission to Florida International University. Failure to do so, will result in the cancellation of your application.

Transcripts:
An official transcript from each college or university where course work has been attained must be submitted. These transcripts must come directly from the issuing institution in a sealed envelope to FIU. Note: If you are currently attending FIU or have attended in the past, you do not need to submit an FIU transcript. Academic transcripts/mark sheets uploaded with the application are considered unofficial.

Test Scores:
If required, test scores must be sent directly from the testing institution to FIU. For GRE and TOEFL, FIU’s school code is 5206.

Submitting Documents:
All credentials and documents submitted to the Graduate Admissions Office become the property of Florida International University. Originals will not be returned to the applicant or forwarded to another institution.

Residency:
To claim Florida Residency for tuition purposes (in-state tuition), you must provide two of the following documents and complete the Residency affidavit (PDF):

  • Claimant’s voter registration information
  • Claimant’s driver’s license information
  • Claimant’s vehicle registration information
