Target Audience: Graduate Students
Session Description
Generative AI has already transformed the research landscape, creating new opportunities—and new responsibilities—for graduate researchers. This session explores how AI tools can be integrated into the research process in ways that are effective, ethical, and transparent.
Participants will learn how to evaluate different types of AI tools, understand their strengths and limitations, develop effective prompting strategies, verify AI-generated information, and appropriately disclose and cite AI use in academic work. The session emphasizes critical thinking, responsible use, and academic integrity, positioning AI as a tool to support and enhance the researcher’s expertise.
By the end of the session, attendees will have practical strategies for using AI throughout the research process and a framework for making informed decisions about when, how, and why to (or not to) incorporate AI into their scholarly workflows.
