February 3, 2023 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Reserve a free ticket:  go.fiu.edu/bodyreclaimed

As seen on Lizzo’s Emmy Award-Winning Amazon Prime Series, “Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls,” the FIU Pride Center is proud to present DejaJoelle, who will lead our Reclaiming My Body event.

DejaJoelle, founder of Body Prayers and Melanated Remedy, identifies herself as a Black, fat, and queer healing artist who specializes in dance, meditation, and revolutionary love practices to guide others to healing and their most authentic self. She will be facilitating a two-hour movement and meditation workshop as seen on “Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls.”

The session will touch upon holistic wellness topics, which include, but are not limited to:

  • Body Neutrality (becoming more accepting of your body and what it can do for you)
  • Mental Health (the relationship between movement and mental health)
  • Spirituality (the relationship between movement and healing)

For more information, contact Indee Williams at iwilliam@fiu.edu.

Event is located at the Wellness & Recreation Center, MMC.
