Following Federal guidelines, FIU policy defines plagiarism as “The appropriation of another person’s ideas, processes, results, or words without giving appropriate credit.” FIU provides ways to check your manuscripts for copying of previously published material. The consequences of plagiarism are severe for anyone in academia so it is best to be sure that you do not plagiarize.
