Elizabeth Munsterberg Koppitz Fellowship Recipient
If your child needed psychological support, would you jump on Google and pick the first provider you could find? No, because you would want your child to receive the best care possible, and you would want assurance that the selected provider is using the most effective techniques possible. But some mental caregivers may not be taking advantage of the latest research, and this missed opportunity is where Aparajita Biswas Kuriyan comes in. A third year student pursuing her doctorate in clinical science, Aparajitas’ research focus on professionalism in the field of child mental health has recently earned a scholarship from the American Psychological Foundation. The Elizabeth Munsterberg Koppitz Fellowship will help Aparajita explore the efficacy and application of professional development in child psychology research that will lead to better continuing education and ultimately to better care.
