Kelley's graduate research is revolutionizing on-site explosives detection utilizing simple, rapid and inexpensive technology. Kelley hopes the devices will be used by the military to keep them safer. In 2013, she presented.

With sea level rise threatening Miami, Ana's graduate research project incorporated revolutionary design solutions to create the future metropolis of South Florida. Learn about the work that awarded Ana the 2013 Student Design Award for Planning.


BUILDING A SMARTER BRIDGE

Brandon Mintz

Ph.D. Civil and Environmental Engineering

Brandon is part of a team of engineers at FIU using state-of-the-art civil engineering technology to create safer bridges. Installing dozens of sensors to "monitor the pulse of bridges," engineers will be able to identify serious issues well before disaster strikes.
