Graduate AssistantsGraduate assistantships are offered in the form of Teaching Assistantships, Graduate Assistantships or Research Assistantships through the academic programs. For information on assistantship opportunities, students should contact the graduate program in which they are enrolled. Assistantships are not available to non-degree seeking students or students admitted on a two-term conditional admission basis. Graduate Assistant Insurance Florida International University provides subsidized health insurance to all graduate assistants holding a full-term appointment for 20 hours per week. All Graduate Assistants are required to participate in this health insurance plan unless their insurance company will certify equivalent coverage. Health Insurance Form to opt out of the GA Health Insurance Plan: For Departmental use only Summer 2012 Contract Entry Deadline is Friday, April 13, 2012. TA Credentialing Form - Departments hiring a Teaching Assistant must submit this form for all Teaching Assistants for each course. Due to UGS by Friday, April 13, 2012. GA Employment Agreement 2011-2012 – Form completed by department to hire TAs/RAs/GAs. Signed original agreement forms are due to UGS by Friday, May 11, 2012. GA/TA Evaluation Form - Graduate Assistants/Teaching Assistants Evaluation. The deadline to submit the GA/TA Evaluation Form to the University Graduate School is the last day of each term.
