Calculating Minimum Admissions GRE Totals from the New GRE Exam

As of August 2011, the GRE exam and its scoring scale have changed significantly. ETS (the GRE Testing Agency) has developed a concordance table, based on data analysis of new test results, to help users translate the new scores to the old scoring scale.

Graduate Admissions will be using this concordance table to determine if the new GRE scores meet the minimum GRE requirement for graduate admissions to FIU, i.e. 1000 total (40th percentile) for master's programs and 1120 total (60th percentile) for doctoral programs.

To calculate the totals from the new exam, the new scores will be converted to the old score equivalents and added together. See the example below. Notice that the new scores are converted to a scoring range, in which case FIU will choose the highest score for the total.
